Scarborough is one of the UK’s oldest and most popular holiday resorts. Brialene Holiday Apartments are located just a few minutes’ walk from the spectacular South Bay. Our apartments are positioned in The Valley, a natural ravine that leads straight down to the sea. Brialene’s apartments are well-appointed and comfortable, overlooking the gardens and with a south facing aspect.
The seaside experience is second to none in Scarborough, with donkey rides, ice creams, sandcastles and so much more to enjoy. The Valley is within walking distance of the town’s railway station, Scarborough’s Town Centre, The Spa, and the Harbour, and there is private parking for up to six cars at Brialene. A local shop is a short walk away. If you don’t require any catering facilities during your stay, then opt for one of our Premium Triple bedrooms, which are spacious and en-suite, and take up to three guests.
Please note … children welcome but we don’t accept pets, hen or stag parties, thank you. Brialene is totally non-smoking within the building.

While the UK has lots of seaside resorts you can visit, Scarborough is thought to be the country’s first of its kind and offers a fantastic beach staycation. The town has an incredible history and deftly mixes the old with the new; from its bustling harbour which has its roots in the medieval period and 12th Century Castle to its state-of-the-art Open Air Theatre, amusements and Alpamare water attraction, there is something for everyone. You can wander down to the South Bay beach in less than ten minutes and the town’s prestigious Spa entertainment venue overlooks its golden sands. Visit the Rotunda Museum which helps celebrate our Jurassic history; enjoy renowned works of art at Scarborough Art Gallery and experience some of the best fish and chips around along the sea front! Scarborough is also famous for its stunning gardens, including the Rose Garden and Italian Gardens on the South Cliff, again just ten minutes’ walk from Brialene.
Then once you’ve enjoyed all the South Bay has to offer, walk the two miles around the Marine Drive (or hop onto one of the open top buses) and arrive at the North Bay, the sister beach to the South Bay. The North Bay includes golden beaches, the Sea Life Sanctuary, Peasholm Park, the North Bay Railway and Alpamare. Another ‘must do’ experience is the Naval Warfare, which takes place on Peasholm boating lake during the summer. The Open Air Theatre is host to world-famous live acts. If you love sport, then Scarborough is perfect for you! The Cricket Ground features some hard-fought rivalrous games, while the town has two excellent golf courses and several putting greens.
The town has its own football team with a stadium, sports centre and swimming pool all 500 yards from Brialene. Scarborough is a great place to enjoy some fun walks, from short ones to really challenging rambles including the rugged peaks of the Cleveland Way and the North Yorkshire Moors. Of course, being in Scarborough means you must take a stroll around the harbour, maybe go crabbing and take a trip out on a pirate ship on one of the many boats that offer pleasure cruises. Dolphins and whales are known to live in the waters just a short distance from the Harbour.
